Cardiff’s Live Under the Stars shows

Music and theatre lovers in South Wales will be delighted to hear that producers of Cardiff’s Live Under the Stars have secured new dates for their inaugural live music and theatre attraction at Cardiff Castle this year. The event is now confirmed to take place from 1 – 11 August 2021.

After being forced to delay their opening festival due to the winter lockdown, the producers of Live Under the Stars have now announced new dates for their series of live theatre and music events from the original date of March 2021 to August 2021.

Sunday 1 August 2021 @ 5.00pm – Cardiff Castle Summer Prom
An evening with World class Welsh talent which includes the captivating Soprano Rhian Lois, Voice of Wales winner and Tenor Trystan Llyr Griffiths, and the powerful baritone Steffan Lloyd Owen .We are also delighted to welcome onto the stage the young performers of Academi Berfformio Caerdydd and harpist to HRH The Prince of Wales Alis Huws, all of whom will perform with the Lucy J Morgan Chamber Orchestra under the baton of Alwyn Humphries. The evening will be hosted by the wonderful Shan Cothi.

Monday 2 August 2021 @ 8.00pm – Only Men Aloud and Friends
Joined by John Owen Jones as special guest, Only Men Aloud have been delighting audiences around the world for twenty years. The men have become well known for their strong vocals and their varied and eclectic repertoire. A typical OMA concert will feature many different styles of music. Welsh hymns and folksongs, Opera and Music Theatre all the way to Swing, Acapella & Pop music.

Tuesday 3 August @ 8.00pm – Walk Like a Man, A night with the Jersey Boys
Walk Like a Man is the ultimate multi award-winning tribute show to Frankie Valli & The Four Seasons and true-life musical phenomenon, THE JERSEY BOYS. With incredible vocals, slick moves, infectious charm and timeless music it’s no wonder ‘Walk Like A Man’ is probably one of the most in demand shows across the UK. This might also be due to having our very own ‘Jersey Boy’ on stage.

Wednesday 4 August @8.00pm- Magic of Motown
Celebrating 60 magical years of Motown, immerse yourself in the sound of a generation as The Magic of Motown returns to the stage. Get ready to Reach Out for a brand new show with all your favourite Motown songs.

Thursday 5 August 2021 @ 8.00pm – My My Abba at the Castle
My My! pays homage to the original Swedish sensations through capturing Abba’s great sense of fun, recreating their incredible unique sound and combining this into a fun filled evening of sing-along, dance-along magic! Let us thrill you with a mix of iconic costume and a touch of audience participation that only a Veritas production can provide.

Friday 6 August 2021 @ 8.00pm – Whitney Queen of the Night
Taking audiences on a magical rollercoaster ride through three decades of nostalgic hits that include: I Wanna Dance With Somebody, One Moment In Time, I’m Every Woman, I Will Always Love You, My Love Is Your Love, So Emotional Baby, Run to You, Saving All My Love, How Will I Know, Million Dollar Bill, The Greatest Love Of All, and many more. Live under the Stars Cardiff are proud to be bringing our West End Stars home for BRING THEM HOME a celebratory concert at Cardiff Castle. West End performers include Sophie Evans (Wizard of Oz, Wicked ) , Lucie Jones (Les Misérables, Legally Blonde, Waitress), Caroline Sheen (Chitty Chitty Bang Bang, Mary Poppins), David Thaxton (Phantom of the Opera, Les Misérables) and Gruffydd Wyn (Britain’s Got Talent, Can i Gymru).

The Adventures of Pinocchio, will play every day from 2 – 11 August 2021
This new version of the classic family tale meets our wooden hero as he sets off on an important quest. The wicked Puppet master Stromboli has used evil magic forces to upset the universe in an attempt to rule the world! It’s up to Pinocchio to find the magic gemstones-the only way to stop Stromboli and maybe, just maybe, help Pinocchio become a real boy.
