John Owen-Jones to tour Wales in June

May 12, 2017 by

John Owen-Jones has announced his first solo concert tour of Wales in June 2017.

It follows a number of sell-out solo shows in South Korea and Japan

John recently appeared as the lead role of Burrs in controversial musical ’The Wild Party’ at The Other Palace Theatre in London.

John Owen-Jones (Phantom/Les Miserables) releases his new album ‘Bring Him Home: A Collection of Musical Favourites’ on June 9, 2017. The album includes tracks from all three of John’s previous albums and also includes three new tracks, ‘Suddenly’ (Les Miserables) ‘Why God?’ (Miss Saigon) and ‘Maria’ (West Side Story),

John said: “When putting the album together I took the opportunity to go into the studio to record several new tracks which I had previously only ever performed live. Alongside these new tracks this album contains performances from some special guests, (Michael Ball, Bryn Terfel, Ruthie Henshall,). Each song has been also been remastered especially for this release. I’m proud of the result!”

At just 26, John became the youngest actor ever to play the role of ‘Jean Valjean’ in the West End and was the first British actor to play the role both in the West End and on Broadway. John Owen-Jones has also played ‘The Phantom’ in ‘The Phantom of the Opera’. He has played the role nearly 2000 times – more than any other actor in the history of the West End production.

John has released three albums, ‘Rise’ in 2015, ‘Unmasked’ in 2011 and ‘John Owen-Jones’ in 2009.
