Little Red Riding Hood and The Three Little Pigs
Roald Dahl was born and grew up in Cardiff, and to celebrate the centenary of this famous author, two of his hugely popular stories are coming home to Wales in ballet adaptations. Ballet Cymru has been granted permission from The Dahl Foundation to produce two works based on sections of the wonderful Roald Dahl’s Revolting Rhymes, Little Red Riding Hood and The Three Little Pigs.
Romeo a Juliet
Critics’ Circle Award-winning company, Ballet Cymru, present an adaptation of Shakespeare’s masterpiece “Romeo a Juliet”. Intense fighting, passionate duets and universal themes echo through dramatic and lyrical choreography. The company promises exquisite costumes and extraordinary video projections to create a world of danger and excitement where two young lovers are caught in an age-old feud.
“Romeo a Juliet” is a collaboration between three of Wales’ arts organisations, Ballet Cymru, Coreo Cymru (Creative Producer for Dance in Wales www.coreocymru.com) and The Riverfront Theatre in Newport (www.newport.gov.uk/theriverfront)
Ballet Cymru is funded by Arts Council of Wales and sponsored by Welsh Government.
