Ideas to bring life back to Wales’ High Streets

September 22, 2023 by

Many high streets and town centres in Wales and the UK are struggling at the moment. Can culture and performances reinvigorate life and footfall to them?

This is the question being asked by Articulture Wales, an organisation that supports the development of innovative, high-quality performances in outdoor public spaces. It is mapping what free outdoor events are already taking place throughout Wales so that it can better understand and support the growth and impact of outdoor arts on our high streets and in our town centres.

The organisation is asking: Can you help shape the future of the high streets and town centres? What events and performances would you, – residents, local authorities, town and community councils want to see happening in your public spaces?

Tell them by completing this short survey:

The deadline is 30th September and everyone can contribute.

Co-Director of Articulture, Annie Grundy said, “Regeneration is complex, and there isn’t one solution, but I feel passionately that culture and creativity are a vital part of the mix to help our high streets and town centres thrive. Outdoor arts can bring a real sense of place to all kinds of spaces, revitalising our high streets and town centres. We would love to hear from anyone involved in making things happen in their communities, so please get in touch by completing our very short survey!”
