Cardiff’s Sherman has announced its new executive director.

The Sherman Theatre has announced its new executive director.

Adam Knight will take up his post in April 2016.

Adam joins the theatre from the Ambassador Theatre Group, where his current role is General Manager of the Edinburgh Playhouse.  Prior to this position he was operations Director at The Grand Opera House in Belfast.  He has held senior managerial appointments at The Savoy Theatre London as well as The Trafalgar Studios.  Adam has also served as a Board Member on various artistic Trusts and Charities and was Chair of Northern Ireland’s Equity Branch from 2012-14

Adam Knight said, “I am delighted to be joining the Sherman Theatre at this hugely exciting time for the company. I am very much looking forward to working with Rachel O’Riordan and the team as we work together to continue to develop a vibrant, bold and inclusive programme of work for Cardiff, raising the profile of the capital’s producing theatre and showcasing award-winning Welsh productions and Wales-based artists throughout the UK and beyond.”

David Stacey the Chair of the Board of Trustees said, The Board are confident that in Adam they have appointed someone with a wealth of experience in management of artistic Venues and Companies; and they look forward to an exciting collaboration between Adam and our Artistic Director Rachel O’Riordan as we move forward.”
